1. All the Bright Places

Author: Jennifer Niven What I Love about the Book: It’s phenomenal. You’ll probably never look at anything in the same way after reading this. How many books begin with the two protagonists on a bell tower, wishing they could jump off? Both Finch and Violet are raw, lost and imperfect. One of them is popular, the other an outcast, but both of them are mad at life. As you flip the pages, you see them learn that sometimes you need to lose yourself to truly find yourself. The book constantly talks of life and death, of pain and hope. It gives mental health the candour it deserves. It tells you about grief, and gives the overpowering message of living now, because no matter how much you love someone, you can’t always save them. This book is a masterpiece, and absolutely unputdownable.

2. The Fault in our Stars

Author: John Green What I Love About this Book: You know all the hype that surrounds The Fault in our Stars? The book is worth every bit of it. Two young people, Hazel and Gus, both of whom probably don’t have much time to live, fall in love. They bond over a book which is incomplete- much like their own story. Lines like, ‘Some infinities are bigger than the others’, ‘My thoughts are stars I can’t fathom into constellations’ and ‘You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you’ stay with the reader forever. This book will make you laugh and cry and feel deeply. It doesn’t matter if you’ve watched the movie- the book is better. The book is always better. Trust me on this, read this book now. Both these books will probably leave you with a broken heart, hope and a realization that moments are what matter. As they say, forever is made of nows. Scroll down, there's one more 🤗!

3. The Sun is Also a Star

Author: Nicola Yoon What I Love About this Book: One day- that’s all this book talks about. It’s about fate, signs from the universe and soulmates. It is about following your heart and believing. Though this story is based on the cliché of ‘opposites attract’, it is about so much more. Daniel and Natasha fall in love, but must be separated, because Natasha is set to be deported back to Jamaica, her native country. The book is written through many points of view, and is beautifully interconnected. It gives the message of destiny, and how everything happens for the best. It says that the power of love can transcend social, physical, and emotional barriers. The Sun is Also a Star is perfect for anyone who loves heart-warming and feel-good books.
