Book Review: The Spanish Love Deception is a fun, breezy read. It has some swoon-worthy moments, and a whole lot of humour. The characters, Aaron and Catalina, are lovable. Is it worth the hype? Even though it revolves around a lot of cliche tropes, I would say that it is a good one time read. The starting of the book doesn't exactly hook you on, but it gets more absorbing a few chapters in.

The author's writing style, and the first person narrative is enjoyable, even though I had to use Google Translate quite a few times. However, the use of Spanish added an authentic touch to the novel, so I'd say that was enjoyable, too.

Would I recommend the book? Any one who enjoys romcoms should definitely read it (if they haven't already, this one's pretty popular!)

Quotes from the Book:

“Neither of you is at fault, Aaron. We are not programmed to lose those we love; there’s no right or wrong way to grieve.”

“What they had was the real stuff. Honest, devoted, palpable love. The one that transcended distance, differences, and obstacles. The kind that was meant to be written about in books. Thinking of it filled my chest with warmth and longing for something I didn’t know I’d ever be able to find.”

“When there’s a rock on the way and you fall, I tumble down with you. We fight our way up together.”
