Set in Mumbai during the 26/11 terror attacks, No Margin for Error is Tanushree Podder’s Military Fiction novel, which takes an incisive look at the patriots who risk it all to stand in the Line of Fire.
About the Book: No Margin for Error is about a young and ambitious soldier- Neel Dutta and his journey from getting his first posting, to being pitted against a group of terrorists, in one of the Mumbai’s grandest hotels, along with the commandos from the elite special forces during the 26/11 terrorist attacks. On that fateful day, he loses his best friend, his confidante, Major Sam Fernandez.
His emotions and bonds, with not just Sam, but also his wife, parents and other colleagues are portrayed beautifully. It brings forth the innermost feelings of a soldier- when he is at the goes for a mission, risking his life and when he is posted at war-fronts, away from his family. The chapters change with the speed of a bullet and end in a in a moving climax. The interesting story-line, which coupled with the brilliant sense of humour of the author, ensures that there is not a single dull moment while reading this book.
No Margin for Error is a compelling read with insights into the personalities and temperaments of the two great commandos from the elite Special Forces.
