Review: Five Feet Apart is a riveting, breathtaking novel I absolutely loved. I found the cover of the book beautiful when I first saw it, but after reading it and knowing what it means, I adore it more than ever. Five Feet Apart portrays the life and struggles of two young adults- Stella and Will- who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis, a chronic and often fatal disease. They fall in love, even though they need to stay 6 feet apart at all times. The attention to detail in the book is worth a mention. The significance of the title, how their heartbreakingly beautiful story unfolds and the character development they undergo- all of it put together makes for an amazing read.
The authors have done absolute justice to this novel, and I would definitely recommend this one!
Quotes from the Book that I Loved:
“If I’m going to die, I’d like to actually live first.”
“Everyone in this world is breathing borrowed air.”
“I’m tired of living without really living. I’m tired of wanting things. We can’t have a lot of things. But we could have this.”
“If this is all we get, then let's take it. I want to be fearless and free," she says, giving me a look, daring me. "It's just life, Will. It'll be over before we know it.”
“She’s bossy.” “Nah, she’s a boss."
