School Life after Lockdown

Right now, all of us are locked down in our homes. Going to schools, parks or trips is not allowed.

It is a time of uncertainty and we do not know what our future would be like. But, let us imagine what the scenario would be like when schools finally reopen.

Each child would come to school, armed with a mask and a hand sanitizer. A simple 'good morning' would be said , with no handshakes :( , hi-fives or fist-bumps. The desks would be arranged with one meter distance in between. No sharing of food or whispering into ears would take some time to get used to.

But there are definitely a few things that are going to pump the life back into us...The different styles of masks that would be worn might make our classrooms even more colourful.

It will take us some time to remember that we are no longer on Zoom and our hand needs to be raised physically, not by pressing a button. The ‘thumbs up’ reaction would be replaced by a unanimous ‘Yes, ma’am’ again.

And we’ll enjoy all of it. Schools would be visited with a smile on the faces and complaints about heavy schoolbags or a lot of homework, this time over, would not be made. We’ll be grateful to hear the school bell and the usual chitter-chatter of the classroom, would be music to our ears.

Never had we imagined that we would miss school so much. Let us hope to see our teachers, classrooms and corridors soon.

We shall overcome and we shall soon be together again. Let us walk with courage and not let our hope die.
