“It is courage, not luck, which takes us through to the end of the road.”
-Ruskin Bond
In our lives, there is someone, or something, which gives us hope and courage, and helps us in getting to the end of the road, in achieving our dreams. This ‘something’, is the point of inspiration which varies from person to person.
I feel inspired when I’m in my garden and I observe all that surrounds me. Little squirrels cheerfully running up and down barks of trees, birds chirping with joy and a little dog who never stops chasing his own tail. He never gets it, but still refuses to give up. Even the weather inspires me- I love the smell and the pitter-patter sound of the rain. The vibes I get from nature make me feel energetic and enthusiastic. Nature is a wonderful teacher and I learn a lot from it.
Another activity which inspires me is reading. I love being between the pages of books and feeling as if I am in a different world. Whenever the real world gets too boring or stressful, I just open a book and start a different life. I go through ups and downs with the characters, and get engaged to the extent of forgetting where I am.
I recently read ‘The Room on the Roof’ by Ruskin Bond, and was amazed by how simple, yet impactful the novella was. The protagonist was faced with many hurdles, many challenges, but he still did not give up. This almost gave me a different perspective on my own life. The way Ruskin Bond draws from his own experiences and writes such interesting novels, also made me realize that everyone has a unique life and a story to tell. I also read ‘I am Malala’ which is another inspiring and heart-warming book.
Whenever I read, spend time in the lap of nature or listen to some music, I am overcome by sonder and feel inspired. I feel confident that I can overcome any hurdle and can contribute in making the world a better place.
We should all strive to be the best versions of ourselves, so that one day we can also inspire others, the way someone/something inspires us today.
Keep smiling, keep believing, keep doing good, because you never know at what moment you are inspiring whom.
