“What is now proved was once only imagined.” – William Blake
Movies, books and songs are often way ahead of their times and predict the future eerily well. Such classic creations are loved by all generations and bridge the gap between them as people of all times are able to relate to them. Books by Enid Blyton, Charlotte’s Web by E B White, meaningful songs and many movies are timeless and evergreen. They never seem to be old or outdated.

One such example is an Archie’s Comic, printed in 1997. The strip, shared by the official Twitter account of Archie Comics, was originally published in a February 1997 issue of the now-discontinued Betty series. It shows Betty Cooper's life imagined in "2021 AD". In the comic strip, Betty is seen attending classes using a computer at home. Aside from the futuristic outfits worn by Betty and her parents, the comic strip hits pretty close to home - even featuring a "Video monitor must remain uncovered at all times" sign that we find very relatable, as virtual classes are being conducted for students due to the COVID- 19 pandemic and social distancing norms. This comic is rapidly going viral and has set the Internet abuzz.
This is just one example of a person’s imagination inspiring reality. Everything we use today- all that surrounds us- was once just an idea. We should always dream big, and be imaginative and creative, for we never know when we might have a unique thought. Also, let us not label unusual ideas as ‘silly’. Let us instead respect each person and each thought, for nothing is impossible. As Eleanor Roosevelt has rightly said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
