The Modern Cinderella

Cinderella was a young, tech savvy girl who lived with her stepmother. Though she was ill-treated by her, Cinderella never complained and continued to have a positive outlook towards life and stayed busy in her digital world. She was never given electronic devices that were as efficient as her step-sisters’ and was made to vacuum clean the house everyday.

One day, the royal messenger announced that a royal party would take place at the palace and that everyone in the town was invited to it. Cinderella’s stepmother and step-sisters were very excited and started preparing for the party. Cinderella herself was looking forward to it.

The day of the party came and Cinderella eagerly got ready in her best dress. But, as soon as she came out of the house, her stepmother mockingly refused to take her in their luxurious car. Cinderella was upset and heart-broken. But, she refused to give up and started thinking of a way to reach the party. Suddenly, she had an amazing idea. She quickly booked a cab online, boarded it and managed to reach the party on time.

She enjoyed the party and danced with the prince for a very long time. She was overjoyed and it felt surreal to her. As she was enjoying the dance, the clock struck twelve, and she remembered that she had rented the cab only for three hours. Realizing that she would not be able to go home if she did not leave immediately, Cinderella ran down the palace stairs and sat in the cab. Running in a hurry, Cinderella had dropped her precious phone on the steps.

The prince found her phone, and wishing to marry her, announced that whoever could unlock the phone using the passcode would be his bride. Many ladies tried, but all in vain. Finally, Cinderella got her turn and unlocked the phone using her passcode, ‘HOPE’.

The prince was on cloud nine when he met Cinderella again. He married her and they lived happily ever after.
