They're Burning all the Witches

If there is trouble, if nothing goes right

A cruel play of fate, a dark, sleepless night

Why is a woman so often blamed?

Why, for centuries, have we been dropping their names?

Why are they judged, not allowed to live?

Told not to expect, only to give?

To bite their tongues, cross their legs

Not to take up space, the better, the less

And if doesn't conform with the norms

She might be a witch, who knows where she's from?

If she does all that, oh-so-taboo

Who's to say she is not into voodoo?

They're burning all the witches, even if you aren't one

So you might as well go ahead and have your fun

They might go around dropping our names

But we're not going to burn in their hateful flames
