Often, I smile to myself as I am overcome by sonder About the lives of millions on this great Earth as I wonder No two are alike from the billions here, far and wide Each one has their own dreams, each one precious secrets hides

Every random passer-by, like my own, has a vivid and complex life And without knowledge of my existence they continue to thrive For I am just a person sipping coffee in the background My problems weren’t so important anymore, myself humbled I found

But this isn’t an upsetting thought, it doesn’t mean I don’t matter For each drop is precious in an ocean full of water I’m a star in the night sky, I should as bright as I can shine And bring a little difference into the life of someone, for that will be a life fine
