The rivers with their sparkling water flow

The heart and soul of our world, among hills and valleys glow

Blessing us with water, making fertile the soil of the world, the country

Rivers, revered and worshipped by thousands, serves us selflessly

These majestic rivers, since forever have catered to our each and every need

But have we fulfilled our duty, have we to their care and upkeep paid heed?

Their joyful giggles have been replaced by distressed cries

With each mindless step, we are coming closer to the day rivers die

How have we let the blue water of the rivers blacken?

Could we not foresee that this would the future of the world darken?

Instead of expressing gratitude, we have inflicted pain upon these river so dear

If we don’t do anything NOW, let me tell you, our end is very near

Our rivers are our heart and soul, they are essential for this world, this country

These rivers are truly our mother, our life, our identity

Let’s get together and work to all rivers revive

It’s time to nurture them like they have nurtured us all our lives
